Advanced Behavior Oriented
Design
Environment (ABODE)
NOTE: This page is for the oldest
version of ABODE. The latest version of ABODE is here.
ABODE is an integrated
development
environment (IDE) for Behavior
Oriented Design (BOD). It is now still in beta mode
(despite
it's numbering scheme.) Use it
at your own risk!
ABODE has been (and is being) written by:
- Steve Gray of Cobalt Software (September-December 2005)
- with sub-elements
were sub-contracted by Steve to Simon
L. Jones, and
- James Nugent
(January-June 2006), with
- Jakub Gemrot assisting on the debug code (from April 2006).
...all under contract
to Joanna Bryson, who was in turn
supported by an anonymous
contractor.

ABODE requires Java 1.4 or above.
Sadly, other than Javadoc, there's no documentation yet... but
Steve did draw some figures:
Known Bugs in
Current Version (1.5)
NOTE: This page is for the oldest
version of ABODE. The latest version of ABODE is here.
- If you do export picture
on windows, you get a mess. It works on everything else,
we have
no clue why not on windows.
- Things resize/zoom when you enter values for variables in the
lower right window.
See also the wish list, though
it
is currently (22 May 2006 (or earlier)) out of date (many things are
fixed.) You
can now report bugs on the ABODE
SourceForge page.
Plans for someday
- Get the debugging really working (may be a total rewrite).
- Work with new version of POSH (SPOSH -- strict slip stack).
- Documentation.
History
Steve also gave me a development
history of screen shots; if you are kind of geeky you might
enjoy
it. I did.
